The administration has put up a board of Government Khurshid Inter College at the sealed office of Samajwadi Party, Darul Awam. On Monday, SP members celebrated Akhilesh Yadav’s birthday by cutting a cake outside the office. The administration had sealed the SP office for violating the terms of the lease.
Now, Government Khurshid Girls Inter College will be run in Darul Awam (SP office) vacated from SP leader Azam Khan. On Wednesday, the name of Darul Awam was removed and a board of Government Khurshid Girls Inter College was put up here.
Now the college will be run in this building. Taking cognizance of the complaint of BJP MLA Akash Saxena, the building of Rampur Public School operating on the land of the Education Department was vacated by the Education Department on 9 November 2023.
Along with this, the administration also sealed the SP office located near the building. A decision was taken to shift the Government Khurshid Girls Inter College located in the fort premises to the RPS building.
For this, Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar had issued an order in January 2024 saying that Government Khurshid Girls Inter College should be shifted to 46 rooms of this building. After the order, its implementation had started.
The education department has now started shifting furniture and other items from Khurshid Inter College. The junior section has also started functioning here. 1100 girl students are currently studying in this college.
This building was proving to be small for their studies, after which Darul Awam has also been handed over to Government Khurshid Girls Inter College. On Wednesday, in the presence of the education department officials, the name of Darul Awam (SP office) was removed. In its place, the board of Government Khurshid Inter College was put up.
SP district president said, putting up the board is wrong
SP workers have opposed the installation of a school board on the SP office which has been sealed. SP district president Ajay Sagar issued a statement saying that the party office building Darul Awam is a Waqf property which has been taken on rent by the party. Its rent is being paid.
This property has no connection with the property and building leased to Johar Trust by the UP government. Despite this, the administration sealed the party office on 10 November 2023. The matter is pending in the court. Putting up a school board by the administration is a contempt of court.
Junior section of the college shifted
The junior section has been started in the new building of Government Khurshid Girls Inter College. Now the senior section is being started. For this, furniture is being ordered from the old college. Principal Shiv Shankar Singh said that soon the senior section will also be started in this building.
The building of Darul Awam has also been taken over. A school is to be run here. On the orders of the government, studies will be conducted in this building as well. Efforts have been started for this. – Shiv Shankar Singh, Principal, Government Khurshid Girls Inter College
